Types of F1 Bets

The most common types of F1 bets are when punters, or bettors as they are known, place a bet on a certain F1 team or driver to win a specified race. This is known as an outright or a straight up bet. For example, a bookmaker may give 2/1 odds or 1.50 odds on a certain race car driver to win at Monza. These types of F1 bets are the most common bets placed by all bettors today.

A bookmaker may also give certain odds on a particular team or driver for a particular F1 race. It is not uncommon for a particular team, such as Ferrari for example, to have two F1 cars in the Grand Prix. Therefore a bookmaker may give odds for Ferrari to win, or maybe one of the Ferrari drivers for example. If you are betting on Ferrari to win, then you are betting on the manufacturer or the team, as Ferrari may have two cars in the one Grand Prix.

Match up bets are other popular types of F1 bets, and can be very profitable, but the risk of great profits also comes with some risk of losing money as well. A match up bet involves a bookmaker giving odds on two or more occurrences. For example, 10/1 on selecting the first, second and third finishes of a given race. Very hard to pick by the novice bettor, but a seasoned pro with a tried and test system and strategy may have a fighting chance to beat the odds.
