There are lots of different tournaments that are held each year that give people who like to bet on golf many opportunities to do so. Just some of the different tournaments in a regular season can include The Bob Hope Classic, Buick Invitational, Honda Classic, Arnold Palmer Invitational, Transitions Championship, Masters Tournament, Players Championship, US Maters, Ryder Cup, the US Open, John Deere Classic and many others.
There are also golf tournaments that are known as Playoffs, and some of these can include the Barclay’s or BMW Championship. As some of these names suggest, there is massive corporate sponsorship associated with these games, and it is no wonder with such big names playing and the size of the winning purse. Golfers who win a championship tournament can stand to win several million dollars. This is certainly not bad for a few hours playing what is considered to be a fun and relaxing game.
During the course of the year there are also other tournaments which fall in the category of featured events, fall series or challenge events. Like the regular tournaments and the playoffs, these other tournaments offer several different options for wagering and winning big money on individual golfers or groups. Here some of the betting options will be discussed. One is called the win single. The name itself really describes what this bet is, and it is the simplest of all the bets one can make on a golf game. In a win single, a bet is placed on a single individual to win the tournament.
Another type of bet is called Each Way Single. This is like a win single, but in this case the people placing the bet would receive a smaller return if their selected player manages to get a place in the event, for example by finishing in second place. The each way single is actually two bets in one. First, it is a win single as well as a place single.
Finally there is the accumulator. This is a bet that is placed on more than one person, and all of the predictions on how they will do must occur in order to win this bet.
