Bet on Boxing
Betting on boxing fights is possibly the most exciting bet you can place. The atmosphere and hype that is apparent in the warm up to a boxing match is huge and one which entices betting.
Not only can you bet on the outcome of a fight, for example Roy Jones to be victorious over Antonio Tarver, but you can specify which round it will end, whether it will be a knockout or end on a points decision.
There are also proposition bets which do not have an effect on the outcome of the fight. These can be placed before the game. An example would be placing a wager on how many knockdowns will occur in the first 5 rounds.
Online sportsbooks offer many different sports to bet on but boxing is by far the easiest. There are so many weight divisions and title fights which means there is always a good fight to bet on.
As with other sporting bets you can wager bets on the outright winner or over and under bets. These are based around the points score and whether a boxer will win more rounds as decided by the judges. As boxing can be a tight game, betting this way can be difficult, but this only means the odds will be more favourable.
Where proposition bets are more important are when the bookmakers have a difficult decision on choosing the underdog. Such as in the Bantamweight fight between Gary Davis and Ian Napa. Both fighters are equally matched and therefore the money line is tied at -115 for both. Choosing a prop bet on this fight would be more favourable.
As a general rule of thumb when betting on boxing matches, choosing a knockout in the early rounds have the more favourable odds. This is especially true for the heavyweight or very lightweight boxers. However, there are always upsets and this is the reason boxing is highly entertaining. Fights could last the full 12 rounds or 12 seconds.
As you can see, betting on boxing has its intricacies making it highly enjoyable and fun.
