Brooks Hopeful For Rockets Season
Aaron Brooks, the former University of Oregon star, knows other teams and fans do not expect the Houston Rockets to make it into the playoffs. He remains confident and says “It’s too early to count us out”.
“We have a new team and are ready for the fight. There’s no reason we can’t do a lot better than in recent history”.
The Rockets are without Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming who are recovering from surgery and injury. Ron Artest left to join the Lakers, meaning Brooks is heading the team.
“We just need to play more so we can gel as a team. We are needing to work out a style and stick to it”. Even though it is his 3rd season with the Rockets, he is happy to have a chance to lead the team as point guard.
“It’s a huge leap, in terms of my career. I know I have a job and need others to follow and play together. This is the way we will win games”.
The Rockets need to up their game if they are to genuinely attempt to fight for a playoff spot. They need to ignore the harsh words and work harder to get to their goals. Brooks, as always is positive, “I’m trying to do a good job and am very comfortable playing at point guard”.
The Rockets are set to play the Blazers, which will test the team’s new positive outlook.
