Bruins’ Recchi Plays 1,500th NHL game
Bruins incredible forward managed to make a cracking show of his 1,500th NHL game. The veteran tapped in two last gasp efforts, in the last 90 seconds, to send the game into a shootout.
The Senators were 3-1 up against the Bruins, until Recchi et al decided to not allow such a landmark game go to waste. Bruins won the shootout 4-3 and helped them climb up the table and out of the slump which has dampened the start of their season.
Recchi pointed out, “I’ve realized I have made history and done some neat things in my career”. He added, “To me, the most important point has been collecting a few Stanley Cups in my time. That is the main aim for a pro hockey player”.
Mark Recchi is well on his way to being a landmark NHL player. He has seen many changes in the game since he started out. “It’s been neat being part of the NHL experience. The changes and variations over the years have been great to be a part of”. He continues, “Nowadays it is more of a skating game than a rope and ride one. There’s less clutching and grabbing and definitely more speed involved. Whichever way the game goes from here, it will still be a neat game to watch and play in”.
Throughout his long career, Recchi has 547 goals, 899 assists and 123 points in 151 Stanley Cup playoff games.
