College Football Betting Week 6: ‘Canes, ‘Noles battle in South Florida
One of the best rivalries in college football takes place Saturday night between the Florida State Seminoles and Miami Hurricanes. See all the key Week 6 odds from BroburySports.com.
No. 1 Alabama (-7) at No. 19 South Carolina - Saturday 3:30 pm ET
Alabama (5-0 SU, 4-1 ATS) is in the middle of a brutal schedule with Arkansas and Florida the last two weeks. The Tide showed their championship spirit with a comeback win at Arkansas (24-20) and then absolutely demolished Florida at home (31-6).
South Carolina (3-1 SU, 2-2 ATS) is still trying to prove it’s an elite team and a win here would do it. The Gamecocks have had a week off to recover from a loss (35-27) at ranked Auburn. Quarterback Stephen Garcia will get the start after being pulled, but the real problem will be stopping the run.
The road team is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings between the teams.
No. 17 Michigan State (+4) at No. 18 Michigan - Saturday 3:30 pm ET
Michigan State (5-0 SU, 3-2 ATS) is a great story as coach Mark Dantonio is trying to recover from a heart attack suffered after the Notre Dame game. He will coach from the press box this week. The Spartans got a huge win (34-24) over No. 11 Wisconsin last week, but this is their first true road game.
Michigan (5-0 SU, 3-2 ATS) is second in the nation in total yards thanks to quarterback Denard Robinson. He leads in rushing and is fourth in passing efficiency. The problem with the Wolverines continues to be defense, especially versus the pass (ranked last in the country).
The favorite is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings between the teams.
No. 23 Florida State (+6 ½) at No. 13 Miami – Saturday 8 pm ET
Florida State’s (4-1 SU, 4-1 ATS) Jimbo Fisher gets his first taste of this rivalry as head coach. The Seminoles looked bad in an earlier road loss at Oklahoma (47-17), but have won and ‘covered’ their last three games. Quarterback Christian Ponder needs to have a big game for FSU to win.
Miami (3-1 SU, 3-1 ATS) has had one of the nation’s toughest schedules with road games the last three weeks at Ohio State, Pittsburgh and Clemson (winning the last two). They finally return home this week and must get a win over their hated in-state rival.
This underdog is 10-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings. The road team is 4-0 SU and ATS in the last four.
