Everton v Crystal Palace Betting Preview

martinez2After delivering a rousing speech at the Hillsborough memorial service yesterday, Roberto Martinez will want to carry that sense of togetherness in to Everton’s remaining four games as they push to Champions League qualification.

Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over West Ham on Tuesday night has taken them one point above Everton in the race for fourth, making victory over Crystal Palace crucial if The Toffees are to put pressure back on the Gunners with four games left to play.

Everton have won their last nine home matches, but the visitors Crystal Palace will hold a big threat to their hopes of taking that run into double figures.

Palace’s victory against Aston Villa at the weekend was a huge step towards guaranteeing their Premier League survival.

A win on Merseyside would take them to 40 points, often seen as a benchmark for top-flight safety, emphasising the remarkable turn-around at the club since Tony Pulis took over in November.

The Eagles defence has been key to their transformation – conceding fewer goals (39) than Liverpool – they currently hold the fifth best defensive record in the league.

However, Palace have failed to find the net in five of their last seven away games in the league – which doesn’t bode well considering Everton have also won seven successive league matches at Goodison Park.

If Palace do find the net, it’s likely to be Jason Puncheon 4/1 – who’s scored three of their last four goals.

In what should be a close fought affair, we’re backing Everton power their way back in the fourth with a slender 1-0 win at 6/1.
