Dime Bet – slang for $1000, i.e. when you bet a ‘dime’, you are betting $1000.
Dimeline – this is a betting line when the difference between the favourite and underdog on the moneyline is 10 cents for example, Yankees -130, Red Sox +120. The Dimeline is predominately used in baseball betting to attract bettors.
Dog – commonly referred to as underdog or the team that is not the favourite to win.
Dog Player – this would be a person who normally bets on the underdogs.
Dollar Bet – also slang for $100 bet, same as a “Buck”.
Even Money – this is a bet when there is no vigorish or juice. In other terms, the odds are 1/1 or +100.
Exotic Wager – any wager other than a Straight Bet or Parlay. For example, IF bets, Teasers, Reverses, Sweetheart Teasers, and Prop bets.
Favourite – as the word suggests, the team or entry that is expected to win the race or event.
Fifth Inning Line – this is a bet that is only placed on the 1st 5 innings of a baseball game.
Fifty Cents – slang for $50, for example, betting ‘fifty cents’ on a race or entry means you are betting $50.
First Half Bet (1H) – this type of bet is usually associated on a football match or basketball game and is when you are betting only on the result at half time.
Future – these are betting odds that are published in advance of future sporting events, these odds are usually much higher than the starting price due to the limited information available at the time
