Getting Value – this is when you aim for the best odds on a betting line.

Grand Salami – this is the total over or under, number of goals scored in all the hockey games played on a particular day.

Grading – your winnings, after your bet is settled and the amount is paid into your account.

Half a Dollar – slang for $50 bet, for example a half dollar bet would be a $50 bet.

Half Time Bet (2H) – this is when a bet is made on the result of the second half of a basketball or football game.

Handicapper – this is a person who analyses sporting information and makes predictions on the outcomes of those events.

Handicapping – this is when the outcome of an event of race has been predicted.

Handle – this is the total amount of bets, taken on a sporting event or race.

Hedging – this is a strategy that bettors use that involves betting on both sides of an event to minimize their losses or to guarantee a minimum amount of winnings.

Hook – this is the half point you receive when you buy points in football or basketball betting lines. Also known as buying the ‘hook’.

Hot Game – this is a game that draws a lot of attention by professional handicappers
