Stars plates to earn money for Malton appeal. An incredible piece of racing memorabilia will be auctioned on October 30th. A set of the Sea The Stars racing plates will be auctioned for the benefit of the Malton Fire Disaster Appeal and Racing Welfare.
These authenticated plates, who have been generously donated by the superstar horse´s connections, are being starred and billed as the premier lot at the popular annual All-Party Racing Group Dinner, where some of the most powerful figures of racing politics and Westminster will join together for the sake of charity.
Racing Welfare, who is organizing the House of Commons event, will play host and also auction a picture of Sea The Stars, autographed by trainer John Oxx and jokey Mick Kinane.
Richard Negus, the Racing Welfare´s fundraising executive, stated that “We have to thank both John Oxx and Taffy Evans, who was one of Jamie Kyne´s best friends and who managed to get ahold of Sea The Stars memorabilia”. “Such items as these do not come along very often”, proudly stated Negus.
The organizer will also receive a 50 percent of the dinner´s proceeds and also be the beneficiary of two of the Racing Post´s employees, Stuart Riley and Laurie West, who will run at next year´s London Marathon.
As if the London Marathon is not tough enough, Riley and West will run this 26 mile race wearing jockey´s silks. The Racing Post will invite bids from owners who are keen to see their silks carried around the marathon route in the streets of London.
