Mundine is not finished yet

Brash Australian middleweight boxer Anthony Mundine has been calling out to critics, fans and challengers alike that he is far from finished and that next year will see big things from “The Man”.

Mundine is the main contender for the WBA middleweight title that is currently held by Germany’s Felix Sturm. He has copped criticism lately over his lack of big matches and denied suggestions he is currently carrying injury.

He took on Argentina’s Alejandro Falliga on 21st October, winning a ten round contest easily. He is seeking to take on Daniel Geale who recently won the IBF Pan Pacific middleweight title with a 12 round unanimous points win over Samir Barbosa.

Mundine and Geale have started trading insults already in anticipation of a rematch as early as April. Mundine’s schedule is sparse with his biggest event a fight against the winner of a reality television boxing show.

Mundine has also lined up WBO and WBC middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik and fellow American Paul Williams in his sights.

“I will take on the winner,” Mundine said after his fight last week. Pavlik was due to meet Williams in December, to defend his title, but has postponed the match following a hand injury.

Mundine has implored his fans to stick with him claiming he has not been given any opportunities and even named another American Ronald ‘Winky’ Wright as his next opponent.

Wright is a multi world title belt holder at the junior middleweight level.

Geale meanwhile is looking forward to ‘giving it’ to Mundine at their next meeting.
