Here’s what they have to say today about the Nets at the Knicks:
The New York Knicks finally ended their brutal losing streak, but can they get any momentum going before the playoffs arrive? They face the New Jersey Nets on the NBA betting board this Wednesday.
New York (36-38, 41-31-2 ATS) completely melted down over the past few weeks, winning just once in a 10-game span. The Knicks finally got going on Monday, beating the red-hot Orlando Magic 113-106 in overtime. The Knicks won and covered for the first time in six games.
Carmelo Anthony reminded everyone exactly why the Knicks went after him—he’s one of the most gifted scorers in the NBA. Anthony absolutely burned the Magic, racking up 39 points on 12-of-26 shooting. ‘Melo has now scored 36-plus points in back-to-back games, and he also grabbed 10 rebounds against Orlando.
Perhaps more importantly, Amar’e Stoudemire seemed back to his usual self. The big man has struggled over the past few weeks, shooting poorly and failing to put up many points. Fatigue seems to be the biggest factor, but Stoudemire went 6-for-10 from the field en route to a 20-point, nine-rebound effort.
New Jersey is coming off a game against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday. There’s no question the Nets are simply a bad team, but they haven’t had much luck in the injury department, either.
Deron Williams is battling a strained wrist, and even if he returns to action, there’s no telling how long he’ll hold up. Rookie Damion James grabbed the starting small forward job this season, but he’s missed time lately because of a foot he broke in December.
The Knicks have won six of their past 10 games against the Nets, including a 6-3-1 run against the spread. This will be their third meeting of the season, with New York already holding a 2-0 edge both straight up and against the spread.
