The Womens Tennis Association, also commonly known as the WTA was formed in 1973. This was the same year as the famous Battle of The Sexes between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. It has seen players from around the world compete in prestigious tournaments such as the Sanex and Sony Ericsson Tournament and is now very popular amongst those betting in tennis.
Within tournaments such as Telecom Italia Masters, Moscow Kremlim Cup and the Zurich Opens are womens singles and double matches. This allows for many betting variations to be made.
Overall Tournament bets can be made. These are where you bet on the woman who you think will win the whole tournament. You can do this by researching the individual player, or if they are playing doubles, then both. Factors such as past performances, current rankings, overall fitness and even the confidence of the player all play a massive part in your prediction.
Within singles and doubles games you can also place score bets. The aim here is to predict the final score at the end of the match. This is rather difficult, hence researching is usually conducted amongst serious WTA bettors. However, placing these bets does see larger and better odds provided.
The WTA also participate within Grand Slams alongside the ATP, so you can also place bets on mixed doubles. This provides even more betting opportunities such as match bets and games betting, all of which can be placed in WTA tournaments also.
