AS Roma, on the other hand, was rather unimpressive in group play. The club finished second in Group E after going 3-1-2. Scoring was in short supply, as Roma managed just 10 goals in that span (it allowed 11 for a minus-1 goal differential). The team ranks just sixth in the Serie A standings and has been victimized countless times in its own end; of the top 17 teams in the league, AS Roma has allowed more goals than all but one.
